Nursing; 5 years na? (A Digoseno's Point of View)

One of the most talked about issues right now in the Philippines is the Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) plan to make the BSN(Nursing) a 5 Year Course from its present 4 year curriculum.

Well the CHED finds it a way for Philippines to be more competitive with all the other countries competent nurses. Well the citizenry has a different opinion.

We have gotten a hold of a couple of statements:

" So they mean Filipino Nurses are incompetent? have they checked the present status of Filipino Nurses lately? We are already above competency level.. this is a direct insult"
-RN GG

" Are they saying that the programs the universities and colleges have are not enough? Why don't they conduct a more loyal evaluation on the subject matter to make it more evident then we discuss the matter. We believe that the Nurses the Philippines produce are Top of the Notch!"
-Ragistrado!

"It doesn't make any sense... instead of making life easier for the Filipinos, they are just adding burdens for its Citizens.. Have they no sense at all? They better see the big picture before they do anything drastic, they might just lose everything"
-aktibistang RN

These are just some of the opinions stated by Digosenios.. if you would want your voice to be heard. Comment and well gladly publish it.

I just hope the government an d CHED would even consider hearing out the peoples sentiments.

I personally hate the fact na mas matagal na ang nursing if this 5-year plan pushes through. but honestly if they require all schools to take 5 years? it would be great ksi pag 4 years parang crush courses na lahat unless if CHED deducts minors para pwede 4 years. If 5 years, we would not be novices anymore when we step on our first job..
